Caolán 🇮🇪🍻🤘🏻 A great EP that has some lovely full guitar parts, some lunchy drumming and Brigitte's fantastic vocals.

No Good really gets you into a headbanging mood! Favorite track: No Good.

peteallica33 Uniquely enchanting vocals over sometimes catchy and melodic, and sometimes sludgy and grinding riffs. This band really invokes the wonder and power of the psychedelic and doom genres and leaves you begging for more. (Luckily they have a Full-Length album!) Favorite track: Corpsehunter.

SabbathJeff Other than the fact that it's 14,235,245 songs too short, I can't think of a reason why I don't love this album. That voice though. GEE ZUSS.

Received. Spun. Do you really need me to type it? Ugh...FINE. Loved. (There. Fuckin' scavengers.)

Thank you Aboleth! I'm itching for the full length something fierce!

about

The debut EP by Los Angeles/Yucca Valley stoner/doom metal band Aboleth, unofficially titled “Demo I.”

Demo here used in the traditional, “cassette-of-a-cassette of a cool underground band with the sick hand-drawn cover passed on to you by a trusted friend” sense.

Featuring 20-year-old belter Brigitte Roka on vocals, veteran skin-smasher Dan Joeright and Collyn McCoy from The Ultra Electric Mega Galactic and Trash Titan on baguitar.

Wait, baguitar? What’s that? Is it a bass or is it a guitar?

It’s both. It’s neither. She’s my daughter. She’s my sister. She’s my daughter AND my sister.

Baguitar is a hybrid instrument, first utilized by McCoy in his two-man swamp blues band Trash Titan, which affords him the luxury of being a one-man show without losing the low OR high end. It also sounds like a rhino fucking a dump truck.

All songs recorded in the same California desert that spawned Kyuss, QOTSA and all those other stoner rock bands you like.

Play it loud, play it proud.

"The sound Aboleth has crafted is simply exquisite. It's fine stoner/desert rock, but doesn't rest there on any laurels. The sound of the baguitar is equally exquisite, magnifying the energy and amplitude of standard fuzz riffage, which makes for a deeper than usual intrigue for the listener. Roka's vocals are unique. They contain both the sharp cutting edge of the finest of female vocals while tempering that keenness with an underlying ragged snarl that magnifies the appeal of the whole." - Heavy Planet

“An outright incredible trio of multi-faceted songs that relay riveting elements of Desert, Fuzz, and Heavy Stoner Rock. Massively epic riffs that just grow and grow, locomotive force drumming, and pulsating rhythms underscore the raspy throated banshee and the mixture they all concoct is something that instantly sets itself apart from the usual stuff that’s going on in the music realm.” - MetalNexus

“Raw groovy stuff, so bassy it makes you head vibrate.” – StonerAss

Aboleth Los Angeles, California

Dirt metal from dusty California.

Sludgy riffs, Allman-esque slide solos and whisky-drenched-yet-soaring female vocals.
